About the Role
We're seeking a Backend Engineer to design and build robust, scalable APIs and services. You'll work with Node.js, databases, and cloud infrastructure to power our applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs
- Build scalable microservices and background job systems
- Optimize database queries and data models for performance
- Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices
- Monitor and debug production systems
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to design effective API contracts
Requirements
- 3+ years of backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Node.js, Express, and TypeScript
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other databases
- Understanding of RESTful API design and GraphQL
- Knowledge of authentication patterns (JWT, OAuth, sessions)
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Knowledge of message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS)
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (DataDog, New Relic, Sentry)
